Miracles do happen in real life
Instead of watching horror movies to overcome the fear of spiritual and supernatural beings in these trying times, we could remind ourselves to connect and honor God, the known and unknown Saints, and remember our departed loved ones in heaven. Breakthrough is a movie that is recommendable for everyone to watch, especially during Undas. It is an American Christian disaster movie released in 2019 and is about an hour and 30 minutes long. It would make you want to believe in miracles again and remember to keep having faith in God.
The movie is based on a true story about an adopted 14-year-old boy who fell in the lake with a couple of his friends. He was submerged for about 15 minutes and no one believed that he would be able to survive the accident. The family was shocked as they heard the news about the accident. They asked for prayers for the boy’s condition from their friends and the ministry. Despite the negative comments they heard from other people, they did not let it be the cause for them to give up on him, who is suffering from the accident.
The movie was full of tragedy and sorrow. But from what is shown, the family loved him despite not being blood-related. This showed us that whether you are a stranger or a nobody, someone or somebody out there loves you, cares for you, and appreciates you. The movie would make you believe that no matter how difficult the situation or the challenge would be, have faith in Him, and He will do the rest for you. The mother in the movie was someone to be proud of, despite the negative comments that she heard about her son. She believed that her son would be awake if she continued to pray to God. She didn’t care about what others think. She only believed that her son would wake up from his condition.
In the movie, one scene they should have worked on more is when they were saving the boy's life. Showing the audience the wrong way of doing CPR would not convince them that the boy would be able to survive the accident. They should have demonstrated the correct way of doing CPR to make them believe that the boy will have more chance of survival. It would also have more impact on the people watching as they see that the rescuers are trying their best to rescue the boy's life.
Miracles do not often happen in real life and they are usually seen in movies. But this movie proves to us that if we keep on believing and keep our faith in God like the story of this boy, miracles like this could happen. Life is challenging which is why we need to overcome these obstacles and not always depend on miracles. This is a good movie that could help you and your family be connected and to always believe in God. The pandemic has taken many lives and you would feel hopeless to go outside because of the COVID-19 virus. Keep on praying and God will do the rest , just keep on believing.
