Halloween Spirit

The first time I experienced Halloween was back in my elementary years. Our class went to different classrooms for trick or treat. I remember every room intensely decorated by the students with various scary materials. Spider webs in the form of stretched cottons were hanging everywhere and blood in the form of red paint was dripping on walls, doors, and almost every corner of the room. I can remember that everybody got scared when a classroom had a creepy looking doll. It just scares even the teachers added scariness to the next level. In my latter elementary years, it was our turn to  scare the lower level students. We did the same thing we’ve seen in the past years. But one thing I’m sure of is that we never failed to have a doll in our set up. We even covered our light bulbs with red plastics so that our room would look demonic and creepier.

In my early high school years Halloween started to be boring, however, I saw something unusual yet effective to keep students in enjoying Halloween. Parents. They exert extra effort to dress up together with their children. The parents really saved the Halloween spirit from fading out. Now, the students feel more support from their parents when it comes to being competitive with their costumes.
